“The Six Million Dollar Man” was an ABC-TV series that ran from 1974 to 1978.  Lee Majors played Steve Austin, an astronaut who is injured in an accident and rebuilt using bionic parts.  The new parts give him strength, vision and speed beyond human capabilities.

The series led to a spin-off, “The Bionic Woman,” which ran on ABC and then NBC from 1976 to 1978.
