“Mama’s Family” was a spin-off of a recurring series of sketches on “The Carol Burnett Show.” The show starred Vicki Lawrence as Thelma Harper, a sassy older woman dealing with a wacky family.
It aired on NBC for two seasons beginning in 1983. It was revived in 1986 for first-run syndication, where it became a ratings success. The show ran four more seasons.
MeTV announced that it will air “Mama’s Family” reruns in 2016.
